Click on "space shuttle" in upper left for more launch coverage.The Spacex Falcon 9 rocket lifts off from Cape Canaveral Air Force base at 3:44 a.m. on May 22, 2012. It is the first private, commercial rocket to be built and launched. It will dock and deliver supplies to the International Space Station. The rocket also contained the cremated remains of 308 people, including James Doohan, the actor who played "Scotty" in the original Star Trek TV series, as well as the ashes of Mercury astronaut Gordon Cooper.
